HPE Predictive Analytics ile Unmapped LD Space Sorunu ve Çözüm Yöntemleri


Kurumsal depolama sistemlerinde veri bütünlüğü ve alan yönetimi, performans kadar kritik bir konudur. HPE’nin predictive analytics teknolojisi olası depolama sorunlarını önceden tespit ederek sistem yöneticilerine aksiyon alabilecekleri bir zaman kazandırır.

Unmapped LD Space Nedir?

LD (Logical Disk) HPE 3PAR, Primera ve Alletra gibi depolama sistemlerinde fiziksel disk alanının sanal bir temsilidir.

  • Mapped alanlar sistemdeki sanal volume’lere (VV) atanmış kullanılabilir alanı ifade eder.
  • Unmapped alanlar ise daha önce kullanılmış ama artık herhangi bir volume tarafından kullanılmayan yani “boşta duran” blokları temsil eder.

Normal şartlarda sistem bu alanı otomatik olarak serbest bırakır. Ancak bazı senaryolarda bu alan allocation group içinde tutulmaya devam eder. Bunun sonucunda aslında kullanılabilir olan disk alanı sistem genelinde kullanılamaz gibi görünür.

Bu durum uzun vadede “array space exhaustion” yani disk alanı tükenmesi hatalarına yol açabilir.

Predictive Analytics Uyarısı

HPE predictive analytics, bu tür senaryoları otomatik olarak tespit ederek yöneticilere bildirir. Uyarının içeriğinde:

  • Unmapped LD space’in serbest bırakılmadığı,
  • Bunun sistemde alan daralmasına sebep olabileceği,
  • Çözüm için compactcpg işleminin çalıştırılması gerektiği belirtilir.

Çözüm: CompactCPG Komutu

CPG (Common Provisioning Group) HPE depolama sistemlerinde mantıksal disk gruplarını ifade eder. Bir CPG üzerinde compactcpg çalıştırmak, eşlenmemiş (unmapped) alanların yeniden kullanılabilir hale gelmesini sağlar.
